The Right Place at the Right Time
Adversity is a prelude to the miraculous. Paul and Silas had been brutally beaten and placed in prison. They were not where they wanted to be, but they were where God needed them to be. Paul and Silas, first prayed; then they praised God. God often carries out His works in the midst of suffering and affliction.

Text: Acts 16:20-34; Psalm 34:1-3
Our lives are not about us. It is about fulfilling God’s purpose. Therefore, we must “bless the Lord at all times (Psalm 34:1).”
Some of us wonder what “success” really looks like. We compare our lives in the perspective of rewards and blessings. Life is bigger than us getting what we want out of it. Living is about praising the Lord no matter what happens.
Our lives have purpose, and it is always God’s purpose. This moment is the right time and the right place to do what God has called us to do. Right now is the only moment we own, and the right place is any place that we bless the Lord.
Sometimes, when we don’t get our way, we reveal our true selves. However, not getting what we want may be the best thing for us. We don’t always know what we need but God does. Also, we may not be getting what we want because of whom we surround ourselves with. If we are listening to the people who are listening to the devil, that may be why things happen not as we would like. For instance, Eve found herself seeking what she wanted. She listened to the serpent. Adam listened to her. They should have listened to God. We may be listening to the wrong voice.
Every life has turns, and it is important to navigate the turns, correctly. If you are harboring bitterness, having a hardship in relationship, having a rocky marriage, etc., then you are at a turn. Learn to navigate the turn by being steadfast. Do not give up.
Do not measure God’s will, purpose, or plan by what you have or don’t have. Measure His will by whether or not you are doing what God has called you to do. Whether young or old, do not discount what you can do for the Lord. God wants to work in our lives.
