Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:23-27
- What does it mean for you to live under Jesus’ authority? What blessings have you experienced while living in that place of submission?
- Read Matthew 8. Which miracle display of Jesus’ authority speaks most powerfully to you this spring? How does this authority example send you to share Jesus with the world? Remember sharing can be in both deeds and words.
- As you consider Jesus’ trip to the cross and resurrection this Easter, how is the spirit calling you to surrender to His authority in one or two new ways? Why is such surrender difficult at times?
