In the Old Testament, God’s presence resided in the Holy of Holies inside the Tabernacle or Temple, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept. The veil separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place, and only the High Priest could enter God’s presence, and that was only once a year. But that is not the case for us now.
