When the writer of Hebrews wrote chapter 11, he did not focus on the flaws of the people listed (there were many). In Genesis 13, Lot made a choice, and Abram accepted it. Abram embraced his place, and God blessed him. As a result, Abram was a blessing to others in the place where he dwelled.
