We are living in an all-consuming world, which can take every shred of our attention. Inadvertently, we can become easily detached from our blessings, families, church, and even God. This “detachment syndrome” leads to backsliding. When we think of backsliding we tend to think of those who leave the church, stop attending, or fall back into sin. Backsliding begins inside and because it does, it is not always easy to detect. A person can still be active in church and backsliding, simultaneously.
When we set our hopes on the eternal instead of the temporal by focusing on His Glory, the detachment syndrome abates. Pastor Danny Whitley gives an opportunity to self-reflect on our motives and a chance to refocus, stop meandering, and redevelop our relationship with Christ.
