Jesus spent 40 days and nights in the wilderness before beginning His Messianic ministry. The Hebrew children spent 40 years in the wilderness before entering The Promised Land. The difference in their time spent in the wilderness has to do with faith and obedience versus unbelief and disobedience. It is a choice. Jesus chose obedience and faith; the Hebrew children did not.
