The word, “church,” comes from the Latin word, “ecclesia,” which means “called out ones.” The Church is the body of Christ and is set apart from the world. It has never been called to be part of the state nor the culture. The Church is a countercultural entity and a safe haven.
The body of Christ cannot be effective when it takes the same attitude as the world. Bishop Hargrove brings insight into why the Church is the most powerful force in the world today.
