David was living a life as a fugitive, running from King Saul. He joined the Philistines for a while to fight against Israel. On one occasion, he and his men left their camp to go to war. When they returned, they discovered the Amalekites had taken all of their possessions including their wives and families. They lost hope, blamed David, and wanted to kill him. David blamed himself too. He turned to God for encouragement and strength. God gave him the ability to recover what the enemy stole.
Missionary Scott Guinn bids us not to lose hope in dark moments because God gives us an inner strength we never thought we had.
